Pedro Delso Rupérez

Born in San Esteban de Gormaz, in the province of Soria on the 28th , of August 1924. He died in July 1994 in Alfaz del Pi.

Painter, sculptor and ceramist, he began his studies in the Soria Scool of Applied Arts. He continued his education in Madrid, Barcelona, Rome and Paris on a scolarship from the Diputacion Provincial of Barcelona. His work have since been widely spread and have been exhibited all over the world.


Pedro Delso created the triangulism, the artistic movement which is rooted in the universal symbolism of trinity. This style which is influenced by surrealism, characterises much of his work. Delso's Work draws on the myths of Don Quixote as well as the Vikings, combining the impulsive creation and the frankness of expression of Spain with stark symbolism. He has .been widely recognized for his unusual artistic talent especially his daring use of color and shapes

His Museo Delso, a large country property which he and his wife built in Alfaz del Pi ( not far from Benidorm) houses a permanent exhibition of his creations, recives thousends of visitors from all over the world.

Pedro Delso was a hard working artist always looking for ways of improving his artistic expression. He lived for his art and to quote him :

He recived many avards during his lifetime . The ones that made the biggest impression on him was that his hometown of San Esteban de Gormez honored him with naming one of the town's markets and a street, after him.
